Dr Johan Wallin, the managing partner of Synocus Group, has a Master of Science degree from the Swedish School of Economics in Helsinki, and master's and doctoral degrees from Helsinki University of Technology. He has been an active researcher in the field of strategic management for twenty years, and has published two books, Prime Movers and Business Orchestration, and numerous articles, both in the context of the individual enterprise but also from the perspective of country innovation systems. His latest research papers presented at the annual Strategic Management Society Conferences in 2006 and 2007, have dealt with country competitiveness. In this perspective the emergent cluster for services and products for Finnish senior citizens has been one of the focus research areas. The research regarding regional competitiveness has been combined with close interaction with leading decision makers on both national and regional level in Finland and internationally.
