Dr. Christophe Roos graduated in genetics, mathematics and chemistry at the University of Helsinki and performed doctoral studies in Strasbourg (LGME, CNRS/INSERM) in the field of molecular genetics. He also obtained a university lecturer grade in developmental genetics at the University of Helsinki and has been teaching both developmental biology and bioinformatics at several Finnish bioscience as well as technology universities ever since. During more than 10 years he directed research in molecular developmental biology among other at the Institute of Biotechnology in Helsinki and promoted the introduction of bioinformatics in the biological and medical study curricula.
Publications by Dr. Roos are to be found in the fields of genetics, developmental biology, evolution and computational biology. Since 2001 Dr. Roos has been involved in the start-up of Medicel, an IT company developing a software research infrastructure for high throughput measurement capture, systems biology and integrative life science research in general.
