Dr Antti Haapalinna has received his MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy in Neuropharmacology and Pharmacology from the University of  Kuopio, Finland. He has over 20 years of experience in Drug Discovery and Development at his previous and current position at Orion Corporation, Orion Pharma. His special area of expertise are pharmacology and characterisation of efficacy and safety properties of novel compounds in nonclinical drug research and development. His published work includes pharmacological characterisation of novel compounds profiling in vitro and in vivo, effects in indication models as well as research with transgenic mice for novel target proteins. He is currently running a over 260 persons research and development organisation. Organisation is responsible for nonclinical documentation from discovery to marketing authorisation. The activities of the organisation include molecular biology (incl. genomics), biochemistry, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, bioanalytics, pharmacokinetics and toxicology.
